sound techniques homework - Thriller

Image
The usual suspect DIALOGUE the use of dialogue in `the usual suspect` helps to create a genre because of the way that it is spoken because the voices are low and quiet which suggests that there is something sinister and not normal because they are talking quietly which means that they could be trying to be sceretive. The dialogue helps the narrative because it makes the audience understand what is going on more so they have a better understanding and they know who the characters are from what they do and what they say because it shows if they are good or bad. I think that this sound is typical for a thriller genre because the dialogue is short so it leaves the audience interested so they want to continue watching because it grips them and they want to find out more infomation. SOUNDTRACK The soundtrack helps to create the genre because it is low and deep with string music which shows that it is a thriller because the deep music makes it feel like something is going to happen b

bbc , netflix and state of traditional TV audiences

The audience for BBC 1 are for people who enjoy watching dramas and serials. This would appeal to people of all ages because they show different dramas so it will appeal to a wider audience because they have more variety of the dramas that are shown. The audience might also be older people because they have had long running programmes that people might have been watching for a long time like eastenders or casualty and older people might have more time to watch them. It would appeal to adults more than younger people because they are trying to challenge peoples views BBC 2 edgy angle - adults not aimed at children or young children  spy and honourable women - older demographic because they are more intelligent  BBC 3 watched on the internet only not aimed at elderly aimed at teenagers and a younger audience  less places for people to see it  comedy genre  The audience for Netflix is for anyone but mainly teenagers and young adults. They binge watch it and it is

Storyboard WWW and EBI

Image
WWW:  the size of each storyboard box is the same size and the pictures in the storyboard is clear. Also the annotations at the bottom help to explain what is going on EBI: the pictures were more detailed and also if we added more storyboard boxes then it would have added more detail which means that people would find it easier to understand. Also if colour was added then it would make it more obvious of what the colour is supposed to be and it helps to build a better image of the scene.

opening sequences ,M-E-S and titles of films

Hanna In the opening sequence we see a young girl in the snowy mountains who kills a deer with a bow and  arrow and later shoots it. we see that the girl is alone and no one else seems to be with her in the deserted woods in the mountains The M-E-S that is used is for the shot angle there are long shot and mid shot. The positioning is in the centre because when we see the deer run off it is in the middle of the shot and when the girl chases the deer, the camera moves with her so that she stays in the middle. The costume that the girl is wearing is made to look with it is cold and snowy because she has snow in her hair and on her hood which shows that it has been snowing. The titles that are included are the titles of the actors and the title of the director as well as the title of the film. Casino royale  In the opening sequence we see a man go up a lift and down stairs into a dim lit room where he does not realise that James Bond is in there. It then jumps to Bond beating up a

influences on audiences

21 year old male studying maths at Oxford uni 6 - big bang theory 7- ITV news 8- detective 9- live at the apollo 10- shakespeare uncovered I chose these choices because if he is studying maths then he is obviously clever and intelligent so he would be interested in programmes that make you think and are stimulating because he would find maths interesting. Cultural capital will influence him because if he is at Oxford then his family might be quite rich because not everyone would be able to afford to go to oxford so it could show that he was brought up in a wealthy family. His age would influence this because he would understand everything that adults understand. His gender doesn't make much different because the shows are gender neutral and would appeal to both genders. demographics  cultural capital ,age , gender 16 yr old black girl not at school with no GCSEs 6 egg heads 7- simpsons 8 - keeping up with the kardashians 9- nightmare neighbour next door 10- undate
