I chose these choices because if he is studying maths then he is obviously clever and intelligent so he would be interested in programmes that make you think and are stimulating because he would find maths interesting. Cultural capital will influence him because if he is at Oxford then his family might be quite rich because not everyone would be able to afford to go to oxford so it could show that he was brought up in a wealthy family. His age would influence this because he would understand everything that adults understand. His gender doesn't make much different because the shows are gender neutral and would appeal to both genders.

Cultural capital because she might come from a poor background and they wouldn't care that she doesn't go to school because they don't see the importance of education. Her age would influence her because she would be influenced and interested in celebrities and what is going on in the media. Her gender might also influence this because boys wouldn't necessarily be interested in celebrities because they might be more interested by football and sports.

The TV shows appeal to both genders because they are not gender specific.

The usual suspect DIALOGUE the use of dialogue in `the usual suspect` helps to create a genre because of the way that it is spoken because the voices are low and quiet which suggests that there is something sinister and not normal because they are talking quietly which means that they could be trying to be sceretive. The dialogue helps the narrative because it makes the audience understand what is going on more so they have a better understanding and they know who the characters are from what they do and what they say because it shows if they are good or bad.
