bbc , netflix and state of traditional TV audiences

The audience for BBC 1 are for people who enjoy watching dramas and serials. This would appeal to people of all ages because they show different dramas so it will appeal to a wider audience because they have more variety of the dramas that are shown. The audience might also be older people because they have had long running programmes that people might have been watching for a long time like eastenders or casualty and older people might have more time to watch them. It would appeal to adults more than younger people because they are trying to challenge peoples views BBC 2 edgy angle - adults not aimed at children or young children  spy and honourable women - older demographic because they are more intelligent  BBC 3 watched on the internet only not aimed at elderly aimed at teenagers and a younger audience  less places for people to see it  comedy genre  The audience for Netflix is for anyone but mainly teenagers and young adults. They binge watch it and it is

Storyboard WWW and EBI

Image
WWW:  the size of each storyboard box is the same size and the pictures in the storyboard is clear. Also the annotations at the bottom help to explain what is going on EBI: the pictures were more detailed and also if we added more storyboard boxes then it would have added more detail which means that people would find it easier to understand. Also if colour was added then it would make it more obvious of what the colour is supposed to be and it helps to build a better image of the scene.

opening sequences ,M-E-S and titles of films

Hanna In the opening sequence we see a young girl in the snowy mountains who kills a deer with a bow and  arrow and later shoots it. we see that the girl is alone and no one else seems to be with her in the deserted woods in the mountains The M-E-S that is used is for the shot angle there are long shot and mid shot. The positioning is in the centre because when we see the deer run off it is in the middle of the shot and when the girl chases the deer, the camera moves with her so that she stays in the middle. The costume that the girl is wearing is made to look with it is cold and snowy because she has snow in her hair and on her hood which shows that it has been snowing. The titles that are included are the titles of the actors and the title of the director as well as the title of the film. Casino royale  In the opening sequence we see a man go up a lift and down stairs into a dim lit room where he does not realise that James Bond is in there. It then jumps to Bond beating up a

influences on audiences

21 year old male studying maths at Oxford uni 6 - big bang theory 7- ITV news 8- detective 9- live at the apollo 10- shakespeare uncovered I chose these choices because if he is studying maths then he is obviously clever and intelligent so he would be interested in programmes that make you think and are stimulating because he would find maths interesting. Cultural capital will influence him because if he is at Oxford then his family might be quite rich because not everyone would be able to afford to go to oxford so it could show that he was brought up in a wealthy family. His age would influence this because he would understand everything that adults understand. His gender doesn't make much different because the shows are gender neutral and would appeal to both genders. demographics  cultural capital ,age , gender 16 yr old black girl not at school with no GCSEs 6 egg heads 7- simpsons 8 - keeping up with the kardashians 9- nightmare neighbour next door 10- undate

LFD and audience participation - Stranger things and The killing

Stranger things  fans of stranger things can view and respond to it through sites like twitter because this allows them to share and comment what they think about it and it also allows them to communicate to other people who are also fans. Another way that fans can be involved is through discussion pages on the internet. The only site that stranger things can be viewed on is on Netflix but you can watch trailer and clips on youtube. The fans can respond by commenting and sharing what other people have posted, and creating communities and becoming part of 'fan families'. Fans can also review and star their opinion on websites like IMDB and on the Netflix site. The killing Fans of the killing can view and respond through using websites and social media sites like facebook and twitter because they can see people who are like them so they could form a group and discuss with others what they think and their views. The sites that it can be viewed on is on Netflix and it is al

opening sequence and narrative theory for `Hanna` and `Sixth sense`

Image
Hanna I think that the trailer for hanna, follows the narrative theory of the Enigma code because it creates mystery and suspense because we only see her kill the deer but we don`t know why she wanted to kill it and also at the end it ends with a close up of a gun shot and this creates mystery because we want to know what she shot. The trailer also creates mystery because you wouldn`t expect a girl that young to do that. Sixth sense I also think that the trailer for Sixth sense shows the enigma code because it creates mystery through the fact that the video itself is short because of the long introduction and it creates mystery because the lighting is dark and shadowy and we only see the women take a bottle of wine but we are not shown anything else. This creates mystery because we want to know what she is doing with the bottle of wine because it could suggest that she is an alcoholic and also because it is so dark and she appears to be alone and by herself.

LFD and constructing audiences- st and tk

Stranger things Stranger things target audience would be teenagers of 16+ and young adults. I think that that it would appeal to both audiences. To attract the audience you could use adverts on youtube and tv channels that have similar programmes so that it would attract the same people who watch the other programmes also using youtube is effective because aloof people will see it and it would be clear to see. I also think that you could could put poster billboards up outside cinemas and bus stations because in public places a lot of people will pass it so they will see the advert. i would constrcut the advert so it shows the boy go missing. The killing The killing target audience would be young adults and older people. I think this because it would attract people who are clever and intelligent because they would need to be good at understanding the plot and working out what is going to happen next because they would need to know how to pick up the clues and hints within the plot w

audience construction of the killing and stranger things

Image
Stranger things The stranger things trailer helps to create an audience because it creates horror and mystery so it means that it would appeal to the audience of teenagers and young adults. I think that the gender would be both genders but mainly boys, i think this because steriotypically boys enjoy horror films more than girls do so it might interest them more than it does to girls. From the trailer it also helps to create horror because we know that Will goes missing and that the Character eleven is mysterious so this helps to establish an audience because it would be aimed at people who enjoy the suspense and tenseness of a film. The trailer engages the audience by leaving it on a cliff hanger which makes the audience want to watch the rest of the series. The killing The Killing trailer creates an audience from the genre of murder mystery and detective. I think that the Audience would be late teenagers and adults, I think this because it would appeal and attract to pe

stranger things and the killing demographics

stranger things Audience - The age range would be 15+ Gender - both boys and girls Ethnicity- All ethnicities  Demographic - students Phychgraphic - people interested in horror and adventure The killing Audience - teenagers and young adults Gender - both genders Ethnicity - All ethnicities Demographics - people high up and people middle in power but also students Psychographics - people interested in crime

opening sequences and editing

4 way split screen I think that this is effective because you can show four different videos going on at the same time. However, I also think that it could be confusing because it is hard to focus on one thing at a time because you have them all playing at once which could be confusing and could look unorganised. I think that the genre that this would be useful in is comedy or humour because you would be able to see what other people are thinking and saying at the same time. To improve my clip for next time i think that I could make more use out of having the split screens rather than playing the same video in each. colour correction I think that this is good because you can change the colour of something or enhance it which would mean that you can make things stand out more than others and you would be able to change the colours of each shot if the lighting was different because  you would be able to edit it to make it look like the same. I think that this would be effective in an
